Short Bio

Ric is recognised as the inventor of software activation which is used on over 2 billion computers worldwide to stop software piracy. His story has been covered by two episodes of Australian Story and in The Australian newspaper.

Subsequently Ric co-founded Haventec, a digital privacy company supplying identity authentication and digital privacy products and services to banks and enterprise including Greater Bank, 86400 and PEXA.

He is also the inventor and cofounder of crypto startup Wallet Nation and Ransomware technology Deadbolt.

Full Bio

Ric Richardson is a serial Inventor, technologist and business cofounder. In this role he solves significant technical challenges, then works with business executives to build businesses to commercialise and propagate those technologies to industry and consumers. His technologies include international advancements in digital security, privacy, authentication and digital self sovereignty.

Ric is recognised as the inventor of software activation which is used by large software corporations to stop software piracy. His story has been covered by two episodes of Australian Story and a recent feature in The Australian newspaper.

In recent years Ric has been developing crypto escrow technologies, self sovereign identity architectures, secure govt access systems for end to end encrypted messaging services, and hardened operating systems to combat ransomware.
