Web 3.0 decentralised identity and self sovereign data

The key to personal dignity on the web is PCI coined by big thinker Woody Buckner. PCI stands for privacy, consent and intentions. Without these big data companies can herd and manipulate people for commercial gain and stifle open trade and exchange.

In my world the benefits of PCI are wellbeing and prosperity. Where the power of the web and services/ products are brought to bare for the benefit of each user not held out as a carrot to entice users into advertising driven spending sprees.

Core to PCI is:

  • An identity system where the user owns and controls their own digital identity.
  • A user data system where the user always owns, controls and polices the use of their data and where the data is never used without the users explicit consent. And…
  • A new concept of a concierge that sits on the users side of the customer / service/ product equation and polices data use, user consent and protects and elicits user intention.
